The recommended stay is 21 – 28 days, but it can be either shortened (7 – 14 days) or prolonged to several weeks. Basic medical examinations are part of the treatment. The physician determines the curative regime (procedures) and the diet . Patients who come should have health insurance and bring the medicaments they use every day with them. Karlovy Vary spa treatment is based on the drinking cure, i.e. the drinking of Karlovy Vary mineral springs. Their composition is very similar– they are alcalic-salinic -muriatic hot springs with approximately 6 g of salt per litre. Besides basic chemicals–sodium, calcium, chlorides, sulphates and carbonates - they contain numerous other elements. Karlovy Vary hot springs rise from the depth of 2000 m.
